We offer tools to help with parent burn-out, inability to concentrate at work, exhaustion, getting out the door in the morning, efficiency, tantrums, morning & bedtime hassles, power struggles, back-talk, screentime battles, and lack of motivation.
BRINGING THE SCIENCE OF LEADERSHIP TO THE ART OF PARENTING THROUGH CUSTOMIZED WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS
Our goal at LHC is to bring the most engaging workshops and relevant content to help parents on their parenting path. We build content that leverages the latest in emotional intelligence, classic Adlerian psychology, and Positive Discipline and helps synthesize the abundance of advice available today to give parents solid, simple frameworks to guide them on their parenting journey.
WHY A GROUP CLASS?
At LHC, we believe in the power of a group class. Parents are isolated more than ever, but historically, parenting was not meant to be a solo act. A group class shows you first-hand that you are not alone and that your feelings are normal and part of the typical parenting experience. Our group class approach brings back some of the benefits of the traditional communal nature of parenting.
I was a typical overextended parent…like so many
like so many, my life felt out of control. I managed a full-time job and a young child and shared the responsibilities with my husband, who also worked full-time. My daughter was a normal three-year-old – pushing boundaries, demanding attention, and being difficult at bedtime. The only thing I could think about when I’d come home at night was, ‘How fast can I get this baby to bed so I can get back to work?’ And guess what?…it wasn’t going well.
So, I took a new job. I figured I would get my house back in order if I worked fewer hours at night. I had a second baby, and generally, things did improve…But I still struggled. My child’s temper tantrums did not improve. The gnawing feeling in my gut that told me, ‘This isn’t how it’s supposed to be,’ did not go away.
I enrolled in a class offered by my daughter’s school, which was taught by Lisa Herold. Candidly, Lisa’s class changed the trajectory of my life and our home. As I put in place the principles from Lisa’s class, I saw the power of her sound parenting strategies. I developed a foundation in the developmental characteristics typical of a child my daughter’s age, and I started to feel like a successful parent. I learned practical tactics but also developed a parenting philosophy for moments when there was no easy or obvious answer. Most importantly, my relationship with my daughter blossomed.
I found it ironic that we had spent our whole lives getting educated for a professional job but no time dedicated to the profession of Parenting.
